YMCA, Restoration Rome and partners providing free lunch for young people in need throughout the Christmas holidays: Today through Dec. 23 and again Dec. 26-30, a free nutritious lunch is being served from noon until 1 p.m. at Restoration Rome, 1400 Crane St., in Rome. The YMCA of Rome & Floyd County, Restoration Rome and a series of community partners have united to provide the serious that actually started this past Saturday. It is up to anyone 18 and under. Some activities also are planned.

- Also on the way: Harbin Clinic hopes to open a 10,000-square-foot building at the corner of North Central Avenue and U.S. 41 early in 2018. It includes: A brick-and-stucco building with a lab, a family medicine wing with 10 exam rooms and a procedure room, and a pediatrics wing with 10 additional exam rooms. The building is designed to add another 50 percent — 5,000 square feet — as more space is needed.
