Buzz: YMCA, Restoration Rome, partners offering free lunch through Christmas holidays. Adairsville Health Park opens today, part of healthcare boom in North Bartow.

 

Gordon Hospital’s Adairsville Health Park opens Monday, part of a healthcare boom in the north end of Bartow County.

YMCA, Restoration Rome and partners providing free lunch for young people in need throughout the Christmas holidays: Today through Dec. 23 and again Dec. 26-30, a free nutritious lunch is being served from noon until 1 p.m. at Restoration Rome, 1400 Crane St., in Rome. The YMCA of Rome & Floyd County, Restoration Rome and a series of community partners have united to provide the serious that actually started this past Saturday. It is up to anyone 18 and under. Some activities also are planned.

Adairsville’s medical boom continues: Gordon Hospital’s expanded offerings in Adairsville get formal on Monday with the opening of  Gordon Hospital Adairsville Family Medicine, Northwest Georgia Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, PT Solutions as well s additional services. Also included: imaging and laboratory services. The office is on Ga. 140 between U.S. 41 and the I-75 interchange and covers more than 12,000 square feet.
  • Also on the way: Harbin Clinic hopes to open a 10,000-square-foot building at the corner of North Central Avenue and U.S.  41 early in 2018. It includes: A brick-and-stucco building with a lab, a family medicine wing with 10 exam rooms and a procedure room, and a pediatrics wing with 10 additional exam rooms. The building is designed to add another 50 percent — 5,000 square feet — as more space is needed.
