Work on the expanded DiPrima’s Shoes begins off Martha Berry as shown in this photograph from Doug Barker.

Expansion of DiPrima’s Shoes under way in Armuchee: Even more work is churning at Armuchee’s “hot corner” as the expansion of DiPrima’s Shoes begins at 2904 Martha Berry Highway. The former steakhouse gave way to the above lot which is being prepped for the new look. The store — one of three in Northwest Georgia — remains open from 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and until 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Details: 706-234-7463. The other stores are at 294 Nelson St. in Cartersville and in Calhoun at 17 W.C. Bryant Parkway. So why “hot corner?” You’re seeing the latest Goo-Goo Express car wash rise on the other side of Martha Berry while just past the Armuchee Connector interchange, work has begun on the RaceTrac mega convenience store.
