First time we’ve seen snow showers in the forecast this season: We could see snow showers Friday morning, from 7 a.m. until noon, and again Saturday morning from 1 a.m. until noon, if the current forecast holds. The forecast will change between now and then but keep an eye on what’s ahead. We do know we’re in for potentially heavy rain on Tuesday and colder weather. By the weekend, we’ll see afternoon highs in the mid 40s.
A strong cold front will cross the area Tuesday and Tuesday night. A period of moderate to locally heavy rain can be expected with the frontal passage, especially along and west of I-85. A slight chance of thunderstorms exists as well, mainly along the front Tuesday afternoon and evening. Otherwise, much colder air is expected to impact the region for the middle to end of the week.
