Media release: Bartow County EMS responded to a single-vehicle accident around 3:50 a.m. Monday. The accident was on Pine Grove Road near Chimney Lane. Upon EMS arrival, Cartersville Police and Cartersville firefighters were on the scene with a overturned vehicle. The passenger car left the roadway, hitting a culvert and then flipped onto its top. All three patients were trapped and needed to be extricated. EMS began treating the patients while CFD started extrication. EMS had two other ambulances respond because of the condition of all three patient. The patients, all male, were transported to Kennestone hospital by EMS. Two patient were found unconscious and unresponsive; other included two patients having head injuries, fractured femurs and possibly bleeding in the abdominal. The third patient was alert with numerous fractures to the legs and arms.
