Bob Shinn and John Good of Candor Insurance joined us Wednesday on the Hometown Headlines Radio Edition on WRGA 98.7 FM to talk about what’s next for the company. You can hear the entire interview by listening to the SoundCloud file above.

Some highlights from the conversation following a bit of background below:

  • A week ago, Candor went public with plans to invest $39 million create up to 675 jobs, starting its growth in Rome.
  • Candor currently employs 20 people in Rome. Advertisements for those positions attracted more than 700 “quality” applications, some of which have been kept for future employment opportunities.
  • The company plans to use several downtown office spaces vs. a central location. One factor: They probably isn’t enough space for all the employees under one roof.
  • Whatever buildings are used will be downtown-based. The company believes its workers want to stay downtown even though some “outer” areas were offered.
