Mr. Michael Dow Cribb, age 68, of Cartersville, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at a local hospital.
Mr. Cribb was born in Floyd County, Georgia on September 2, 1949, son of the late Woodrow Cribb and the late Elizabeth King Cribb. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during the Vietnam War. Mr. Cribb retired from Image Industries and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include three sons, Rev. Jason Cribb and his wife, Jorie, Cartersville, Gavin Cribb and his wife, Nancy, Annandale, VA, and Aaron Cribb, Shannon; five grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Monday, October 9, 2017, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel with his son, the Rev. Jason Cribb, officiating.
Ruth Earle Talley, age 85, of Rome, GA. passed away Monday, October 9, 2017, after a short illness.
Ruth was born May 21, 1932 in Shannon, GA. She was the youngest of four children to Malcolm Landrum Earle and Pearl Davis Earle of Shannon, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Samuel Talley, on October 24, 2007.
Survivors include a son, Jim Talley and daughter-in-law, Jennifer Talley, Rome, GA; two grandsons, Sam Talley and Jack Talley; her sister, Edna Earle Whatley, Rome, GA, along with two sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, J. D. Earle and Charles Earle.
Ruth was a graduate of Model High School and attended West Georgia College. Her working years included time at Brighton/Burlington Mills, Talley Insurance Agency and Darlington Middle School. Ruth’s avid love for people was infectious. Visiting old and new friends gave her great pleasure. Once you got her talking, you better be ready for a long visit.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Rome, GA, for over 40 years and was a member of the Mountain View Garden Club . She especially loved her friends in the North Pointe Neighborhood where she resided.
Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church, downtown Rome, Georgia, on Thursday, October 12, 2017. Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Matt DuVall officiating.

Mrs. Ruby Louise Sanford, 87 from Summerville (Gore Community), Ga., passed away on October 9, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Wright Memorial Mortuary Inc.
Mrs. Julia Ann White Hampton, age 87, of Silver Creek, passed away on Monday, September 25, 2017, at her residence.
Mrs. Hampton was born in Floyd County, Georgia on July 18, 1930, daughter of the late Hubert H. White and the late Odessa Thacker White. She was also preceded in death by her husband, L. C. Hampton, on October 7, 2016, and by a brother, Wayne White. Mrs. Hampton traveled extensively with her husband during his career in the military. During this time, she worked in several x-ray departments at various locations. Mrs. Hampton was a faithful member of the Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church where she served through the years as a Sunday School teacher, sang in the choir, and was active in the W.M.U. and held various other positions.
Survivors include her son, Larry Charles Hampton, Arlington, WA; two sisters, Ophelia W. Dawson, Marietta, and Joan W. Goss and her husband, Roger, Rome; two brothers, Billy Jo White and his wife, Joann, Silver Creek, and Michael D. White and his wife, Patrice, Marietta; nieces and nephews.
The family held a memorial service in Arlington, WA on October 7th, the one year anniversary of her husband’s falling asleep. The family will hold a memorial service on Saturday, October 21, 2017, at 2pm at her residence, 197 Isbell Road, SE, Silver Creek. Following the memorial service at her residence, she will be laid to rest beside her husband at Floyd Memory Gardens.
