We thank Doug Barker for fiver great photos of the now-open Sam’s Burger- Deli & Schroeder’s on Martha Berry in Armuchee.

Talk about a room with a view.
Northwest Georgia’s newest “landmark.” Take that, Big Chicken.

It started with a burger: Sam Edwards often talked about his concept of moving from his leased location nearby (turned out to be 3268 Martha Berry Highway from 3710 MBH). And then there came the talk about using some sort of flying machine as a prop if you will, something to draw attention to what was coming soon deeper into Armuchee. That was in addition to what has been a mainstay at the original — a wall of photos saluting the men and women who have served our country. On Tuesday, the only talk was about what Edwards, staff and family had pulled off — a landmark restaurant that includes an airplane fuselage over the door and now an VW van complete with the tail end of a plane. The first threads on Facebook were very positive, even one note that said the beer license hadn’t made it to the new spot just yet. Inside, you’ll find the mostly the same menu (now with more of the burgers and Philly-Cheese sandwiches) from the original location plus “private rooms for your events and meetings, along with custom dining and catering options … with different capacities, ranging from 15 to 75 seats. The new location features 6,200 square feet of which 3,400 will be for the restaurant. Click for the updated website. / Click here for the menu
