Mr. Donald Lee Thacker Sr., age 78, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017, at a local medical facility.
Mr. Thacker was born in Rome, Ga., on October 1, 1938, son of the late Lee Eddie Thacker and the late Cleo Manning Thacker. He was a graduate of Johnson High School and a veteran of the United States Marine Reserves. Prior to retirement, Mr. Thacker was associated with Thacker Starter and Alternator as a re-builder. He loved being in the outdoors and hunting, and was an avid horseback rider.
Survivors include his three daughters, Tina Hiles, and her husband, Tommy, Kingston, Tanya Barfield, and her husband Danny, Armuchee, Melissa Henderson, Rome; a son, Donald “Donnie” Lee Thacker, Jr., and his wife, Felecia, Adairsville; eight grandchildren, Tom Hiles, Brent Moore (Stephanie), Katie Barfield, Mason Thacker, Brianna Thacker, Sierra Lingerfelt, Halee Henderson and Rayce Henderson; one great-grandson, Stephen Moore; two brothers, Wendell Thacker, Kingston, Charles Thacker, and his wife, Carol, Rome. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Thacker will be cremated. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the chapel at Henderson and Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, with Dr. Steve Drake officiating.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour.

Micha Lee Cornejo, age 44, of Rome died Friday, September 29, 2017.
A native of Rome, Mrs. Cornejo was born August 26, 1973, daughter of Ricky Redden and the late Angela Jones Redden Blackwood . She attended West Rome High School, played basketball and enjoyed cooking and reading. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Angela Blackwood, and sister, Maranda Robles.
Survivors include her husband, Lorenzo Guzman; children Anthony Redden, Modesta Dominguez and her husband Martin, and Yasmin Cornejo; brothers Michael and Keith Hall; sister Alicia Hall; stepfather Olin Blackwood; grandchildren Julian Martinez, Isaiah Dominguez, Annabella Redden, and Victoria Dominguez.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, October 2, 2017 in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Sr.’s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. with Rev. Gary Diggs officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 11 a.m. until the service hour.
