Dale Named SAA Offensive Player of the Week
Berry College’s Slade Dale was named this week’s Southern Athletic AssociationOffensive Player of the Week after leading the Vikings to a 28-14 win over LaGrange on Saturday. Dale threw for 172 yards going 12-for-16 in the air. He also finished with three touchdown passes and one rushing TD to go along with 88 rushing yards on 10 carries. Additionally, he finished with a 227.2 passing efficiency rating. With Dale as the quarterback, the Vikings have started the season 2-0 and are averaging 29.0 points per game. The Vikings will face Rhodes College this Saturday at Valhalla Stadium for a 6 p.m. kickoff. More below.

Shorter Hawks sports updates. Football: Shorter will be on the road at Florida Tech, Saturday at 7 p.m. Schedule

  • We’re checking to see if the game is still a go because of any storm damage.
  • Sept. 23: Shorter will induct Coach Phil Jones into the Athletics Hall of Fame. All former players, coaches, and staff are invited to join us for this special occasion. The presentation will take place on the field prior to kickoff against Delta State. Game time is set for 1 p.m. at Barron Stadium.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Tech’s game at the University of Central Florida in Orlando), set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, has been canceled because of issues tied to Hurricane Irma. It will not be rescheduled. Next for the Jackets: Home vs. Pittsburgh at 12:20 p.m.
