So suddenly that spare bedroom or couch is occupied with the son of a friend from Sarasota or that long-lost in-law. With local weather staying at the Chamber of Commerce level (i.e., perfect) through Sunday, where do you all go and what do you do? We have answers:

7 a.m.-1 p.m.  Saturday: Farmers market sponsored by Berry College Student Enterprises. The details: “There will be several vendors from the local community as well as Berry College Student Enterprises. Products such as fresh produce, baked goods, artwork, beef, flowers, and handmade jewelry will be sold. We’ll also have a kids area with a bounce house, so it’ll be fun for the whole family.” Look for it in the Clara Bowl near the Ford Buildings (hard right at the roundabout)

10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Sunday: Tellus Science Museum at Cartersville. Great indoor activities and tours, especially for the kids.

8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 2:30 p.m. Sunday: The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at the DeSoto Theatre: Rome is honored to welcome many Florida and South Georgia visitors while they seek shelter from Irma. Rome Little Theatre hopes that we can bring laughter and joy to your stay! Please enjoy 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at RLT for FREE Friday at 8pm, Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 2:30pm. 6 p.m. Saturday. Football as Berry College hosts LaGrange in the home season opener. Tickets are $5 at the gate; Valhalla field. Schedule

7 p.m.  until ? Jay Pewitt Music Festival at Rome City Brewing Co. Featuring a KnecKDown reunion! All proceeds benefit Jay Pewitt and family! Join us for a huge night of country tunes and southern rock for a great cause. Wilson Bros 7 p.m., Whiskey Dixie at 8 p.m. KnecKDown at 9 p.m. Bennie Gray at 10:30 p.m. Plus: College football on all screens. Tickets are $10 per person.
