Mr. Edwin Allen Sitten, age 68, of Cartersville, GA, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at Cartersville Medical Center.
Mr. Sitten was born in Rome, GA on May 23, 1949, son of the late Odis Allen Sitten and the late Roberta Jane DeHart Sitten. He was a 1967 graduate of Pepperell High School in Lindale and was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement, he was Manager of the Dalton Center for U. P. S. following 30 years of employment. He was a member of The Church at Liberty Square.
Survivors include his wife, the former Penelope “Penny” Hyde, to whom he was married on January 28, 1968; 2 daughters, Kara Sitten Kemp, and her husband, Nate, and Keila Sitten Shue, and her husband, Matt, all of Cartersville; a son, Bart Sitten, and his wife, Alyssa, Cartersville; 6 grandchildren, Hattie Beth Williams, Annabelle Williams, Penelope Shue, Logan Kemp, Lindley Kemp, and Camdyn Sitten, all of Cartersville; a sister, Betty Sitten Kelley, Lindale; nieces and nephews including a special niece, Tracy Byrd, and her husband, Randy, Rome.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at 3 p.m. in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel. Dr. Jacob King and Dr. Joe E. Edwards will officiate. Following the memorial service, Mr. Sitten will be cremated and inurned in Georgia National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the service hour. At other times, they may be contacted at their respective homes.

Mrs. Cora Lee Johnson, 100, of Rome, GA passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2017. Services for Ms. Johnson will be held on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Metropolitan United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Claudette Farmer officiating. The body will lie instate from 10 a.m. until funeral hour. Interment will follow the service in the Morningview Cemetery.
