Isakson to hold live town hall Monday evening. Fox enters Cartersville City Council race.

U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., will hold a town hall meeting on Monday, Aug. 14, at Kennesaw State University. Monday’s event will be the fourth question-and-answer forum with Georgians held by Isakson this year. He conducted three town hall meetings via telephone on March 2, March 9 and July 11. The town hall meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Seating is limited and will be offered on a first come, first served basis. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and the town hall meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. Parking will be available for visitors at the Central Parking Deck at Parliament Garden Way. An attendant will direct overflow vehicles to the closest available parking location if the need arises.

Gary Fox is running for the Ward 5 seat on the Cartersville City Council. “As a lifelong resident of Cartersville, I have seen the tremendous progress that has been made by our city over the last several years. I want to see us maintain that forward progress,” he says. Fox is a Certified Public Accountant and has been in private practice in Cartersville since 2011. Prior to that, he was with Bartow County Bank for 29 years. Fox is a 1976 graduate of Cartersville High School and a 1980 graduate of the University of Georgia. He and his wife of 35 years, Liz Fox, have three grown children: Nathan, Sarah and Anna.
