Cartersville man held on six charges following robbery call Monday morning.

From Cartersville Police: At approximately 8:33 a.m. Monday, officers responded to McDonald’s at 1370 Joe Frank Harris Parkway in reference to a possible robbery call. Upon arrival, officers determined the victim, a cab driver, was assaulted with non-life threatening injuries by the suspect, Ruben McCann. Reportedly, McCann pulled a knife and threatened the cab driver right before he ran from the scene. The Criminal Investigations Division was able to quickly identify the suspect, Mr. McCann, placing him into custody a short time later.

Bartow County Jail records show McCann was charged with possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine and aggravated assault — all felonies — as well as misdemeanor counts of drugs to be kept in the original container; possession and use of drug-related objects; and battery. His address is listed as 1574 Cassville Road NW, Lot 9, in Cartersville.
