If you’re heading out to do some school shopping this weekend, there are two local retailers offering tax-free shopping despite Georgia lawmakers’ decision not to hold the tax holiday this year.

Humble Pie Boutique on Broad St. in Rome: “Y’all we are having SO much fun this weekend!! All Humble Pie stores are participating in TAX FREE weekend and we are having a 25% off sale. This sale includes clearance items.”

GoGo at the Shoe Box on Martha Berry Blvd. is also having it’s own tax-free shopping. Today the store will give customers a break by paying for the sales tax on every item in its inventory. The sales-tax break is good for any purchase amount, including any items that are on sale. GoGo is at 1018 Martha Berry Blvd. and the hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Details: 706-291- 0752.

Last weekend, Whistle Britches on Broad Street did its own tax-free sale even though the state opted out of the popular consumer holiday this year.

Tennessee’s tax free holiday is today through Sunday (details); Alabama held its sale last weekend.
