Remembering Robert Jerry Allen, Sr., Doris Lucille Bailey Green, Gail Diann Dyer Hobgood and Ethel Delores Luci

Ms. Doris Lucille Bailey Green, age 91, of Cedar Bluff, AL, formerly of the Garden Lakes Community, Rome, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017, at a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 17, 2017, at 11am in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Brad Dillard and the Rev. Charles Garrett officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Sunday from 4 until 6pm. At other hours, they may be contacted at their respective residences.

Mr. Robert Jerry Allen, Sr. age 79 of Rome, died Friday July 14, 2017 following an extended illness.

Mr.  Allen was born April 18, 1938 in Rome, GA son of the late Robert Lee Allen and Essie Mae Sims Allen. Until his retirement Mr. Allen had been a supervisor for  Fluor-Daniel Construction Company. Mr. Allen was a member of East Floyd Masonic Lodge # 728 F&AM and  Callier Springs Country Club. He was a veteran having served in the United States Navy and loved gardening and working on his farm.
Survivors include: two sons and daughter–in-law, Robert Jerry “Bobby” Allen, Jr. and James Randall “Randy” Allen (Susan) both of Rome; two daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda Kay Smith (Mike) and Melissa Gay Worthan (David) both of Dallas, GA; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday 2 PM in the Carl Sidwell Chapel of Salmon Funeral Home with Pastor, Chris Hayes officiating, interment will follow in East View Cemetery. The Shanklin-Attaway Post 5 of the American  Legion and East Floyd Masonic Lodge #728 will conduct graveside rites. There will be a called communication of the East Floyd Lodge #728 for the purpose of attending Mr. Allen’s services.

The family will gather at Salmon Funeral Home Monday where they  will receive friends from 12 noon until the funeral hour, at other hours they may be contacted at their respective residences.

Pallbearers are asked to meet at noon on Monday and include: Joel Graves, Zach Tinkle, Chris Newell, Preston Leopold, Jordon Leopold and Brock Watkins.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Children’s Home, 1417 Nottingham Dr. Macon, GA 31211. Salmon Funeral Home.

Gail Diann Dyer Hobgood

Gail Diann Dyer Hobgood, age 66 of Rome passed away Wednesday July 12, 2017 in a local hospital.

Gail was born January 27, 1951 in Floyd County, a daughter of the late Roy Dyer, and Lillie McCarley Dyer. She was a member of Shannon Church of God.

Survivors include her husband Jack Hobgood, sons, Keith (April) Jones, Rome; Jason (Tonya) Jones, Rome; grandchildren, Alex, Chaney, Logan, and Chelsey Jones. sister, Wanda (Michael) Kidd, Rome;

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Sunday July 16, 2017 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. William Ford, officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour, on Sunday at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.

Ethel Delores Luci, age 72, of Rome passed away on Friday, July 7, 2017 at Erlanger in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Ms. Luci was born on September 2, 1944, the daughter of the late Noah Carlisle and the late Almeda Harrison Carlisle.

Ms. Luci is survived by two daughters, Alyson Wright of Forest Grove, Oregon and Patricia Edwards of Rome; one son, John Duvall of Rome; ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Carlisle of Rome and a sister, Ann Brooks of Warner Robbins, GA. also survive.

A memorial service to honor her life will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. in the Salmon Funeral Home.
