T-mobile is now open at 205 Turner McCall Blvd., adjacent to Walgreens and across from Floyd Medical Center. This is the first store for the wireless phone company in Rome and it expands into Northwest Georgia. The next closest stores are in Cartersville and Dalton. Business hours are Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The store can be reached at 706-295-3871. Media release: Bank of the Ozarks have announced that net income for the second quarter of 2017 was a record $90.5 million, a 66.2% increase from $54.5 million for the second quarter of 2016. Diluted earnings per common share for the second quarter of 2017 were $0.73, a 21.7% increase from $0.60 for the second quarter of 2016. For the six months ended June 30, 2017, net income totaled $179.7 million, a 69.3% increase from net income of $106.2 million for the first six months of 2016. The Rome-Floyd Recycling Center will host an Electronics Collection Event this Saturday, July 15 at the Center – 405 Watters Street.
