Non-profits

Primrose Schools will present a $10,000 check to the Harbor House in memory of one of its co-founders, Paul Erwin, who passed away on April 8, 2017. The funds will be donated from the Primrose Children’s Foundation, the nonprofit arm of the company’s Primrose Promise corporate social responsibility program. Paul and his family frequently supported and volunteered at the Harbor House, so they asked that donations be made to the Harbor House in lieu of flowers. This summer, the Harbor House will be relocating to the Sexual Assault Center of Northwest Georgia. The donation from Primrose Schools will support the renovation of the new space at the center and one of the new rooms will be named in Paul’s memory.  The presentation is set for 11 a.m. Friday at Harbor House, 307 E. First Ave.

Medical

Reminder: Floyd‘s new  Urgent Care and Corporate Health facility opens today. At 8,600 square feet and based at 302 Shorter Ave., it includes a larger Urgent Care practice as well as a customized center for Corporate Health patients. Urgent Care patient rooms will double to 14 and will feature a central nurses’ station with digital patient-tracking monitors, giving nurses quick access to every patient room.
