Updated — Rome Police: Nine arrested in overnight shots fired investigation in West Rome.

 

WRGA is reporting that nine people were arrested overnight in a four-hour ordeal that included calling out the SWAT team. There were reports of shots fired as well as some thefts.The house was at 11-A Wood Creek Way in West Rome, Rome Police Capt. Trixie Morgan says,

Updated:  An armed robbery investigation in West Rome resulted in nine arrests Tuesday night. According to Captain Trixie Morgan with the Rome City Police Department, two black males stole money, a phone, and an iPad from the victim. When police arrived on the scene, the victim led officers to 11 A Wood Creek Way where the suspects were last seen. Police say that the suspects attempted to lead officers away from the residence with false shots fired report. Police called the victim’s phone and heard it ring inside the residence.

SWAT was called to the scene and surrounded the house. The standoff lasted from around 9:50 p.m. Tuesday to 2:30 Wednesday morning.

All nine suspects are charged with willful obstruction of law enforcement. The:
