Media release: At 1:50 p.m. Tuesday, Bartow County Emergency Medical Service along with numerous other agency responded to a airplane crash on Milam Bridge Road near Euharlee. Upon arrival, crews found a small two-seat plane with heavy damage. The crew quickly began a search and located two patients. An Air Life helicopter was contacted for support. The first patient, a male, was found to have numerous trauma injuries and the crew began trauma protocol treatment for this patient. His care was released to the helicopter crew once on the scene. The patient was flown to Grady Hospital. The second patient, also a male, was conscious but also had numerous trauma injuries. A quick assessment of the patient was done and treatment was started. The second patient was transported to Floyd Medical Center by EMS. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
From Bartow County Fire Department: “Please avoid the area of Milam Bridge Road. The Bartow County Fire Department and other agencies are working a small plane crash near 99 Milam Bridge Road in Euharlee. Two male subjects were trapped in the crash and have been extricated and transported to separate hospitals. Crews are still on scene awaiting utility companies, FAA and dealing with a fuel leak from the plane.”
