Our rain chances will increase from 50 to 80 percent through 8 p.m. We’ll see close to a half inch of rain but no snow in our forecast for now.

Wind advisory Tuesday afternoon, evening:

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory, which is in effect from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday for north and central Georgia including Floyd, Bartow, Gordon, Polk and Chattooga counties. Winds: Northwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts to near 30 mph. Winds gusts of 35 to 40 mph are possible in the higher elevations of the mountains. Impacts: Strong winds will bring down large tree limbs and some weaker trees. Unsecured outdoor items may be blown down.

From Hometown: With a high of 48 forecast on Tuesday, these winds and gusts will mean a wind chill factor probably in the upper 30s.
