A great turnout for the 12th Annual Polar Bear Paddle on the Etowah on Saturday morning, even if the weather didn’t cooperate (we had near-record heat in the 70s). This blurb from Coosa River Basin Initiative’s Facebook page: “A few scenes from today’s Polar Bear Paddle…not too frigid but fun just the same! Jesse Demonbreun-Chapman took the polar plunge after CRBI supporters donated more than $1,000 to see the new Executive Director and Riverkeeper jump in the Etowah. Thanks for paddling with CRBI, Keep Rome-Floyd Beautiful and the Rome-Floyd ECO River Education Center. Big thanks to Floyd EMA for being on hand with a motorized boat.” For more 50-plus more photos, please click Polar
