Remembering Mr. Grady William Jones, Mrs. Rose Marie Jordan, Mrs. Susan P. Pearson

Mr. Grady William Jones, age 86, Rome, GA, passed away Monday, October 17, 2016, at his residence.

Mr. Jones was born in Rome, GA, on September 20, 1930, son of the late Jack Jones and the late Pearl Lewis Jones. Prior to retirement, he was a textile worker at Lindale Mill for 40 years. Mr. Jones was an avid golfer, and enjoyed spending his free time on the golf course with his son and friends. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his children, David Wayne Jones, Rome, Barbara Ann Jones, Rome, Carlos Minge, Cedartown, and Geraldine Johnston, Alabama; nine grandchildren,  sixteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild. Friends and extended family also survive.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016, in East View Cemetery at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jerry Brooks officiating.

Mrs. Rose Marie Jordan, age 71, of Silver Creek, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2016, at a local hospital.

Mrs. Jordan was born in Baltimore, Maryland on August 4, 1945, daughter of the late John Isaac Kercheval.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Lee Jordan, and by a grandson, John Isaac Loring.

Survivors include two daughters, Cassandra Vest and her husband, Ralph, Silver Creek, and Jessica Higdon, Morganton, NC; two grandchildren, Michelle Trammell and Daniel Vest; a great grandson, Dylan Trammell.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, from 5 until 7pm.  In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated following the visitation.

Mrs. Susan P. Pearson, 83, of Lyerly, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at her residence.

Mrs. Pearson was born on December 29, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Robert E. Sangster and the late Ola Ann Watson Sangster. She was a member of Shorter Avenue Baptist Church. She was the first female postal carrier in Rome. She also was a beautician and a manager with Golden Gallon.

Survivors include her husband, James E. Pearson IV; her children, Nancy Cromer and Carole Haynes both of Ocilla; her stepchildren, Lisa Pearson of Rome, Jimmy Pearson and David Pearson both of Coosa; her grandchildren, Wendi and Danny Sewell of Silver Creek, Amber (Missi) and Stephen Nix of Calhoun, Lori Cromer of Ocilla, Kelly and Gail Cromer of Lindale and Nickolas Pearson of Coosa; her great grandchildren, Jonathan Sewell, Brittany and Ben Chambers, Stephen Cromer, Heather Cromer, Deyton Nix and Colyn Nix; and her great-great grandchild, Khole Cromer.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Oaknoll Chapel with The Reverend Skip Myers officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Pallbearers will be Ben Chambers, Jonathan Sewell, Deyton Nix, Colyn Nix, Danny Sewell, Jimmy Pearson, Nickolas Pearson, David Pearson and Kenneth Harrelson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Steve Nix and John Haynes.
