A busy summer at LakePoint Sporting Community, highlighted by the grand opening of Champions Center — a massive indoor complex, is about to bookend with the premiere of LakePoint Station. The formal opening is listed for a week from today, Aug. 26. Inside — and outside — you find — in their words — “St. Angelo’s Pizza, Clip n’ Climb rock climbing and 36 holes of miniature golf, all encompassed in a train station theme with it being located adjacent to an active railroad.” More details as we get them.
- Back to Champions Center: A free open house is set for Saturday, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. For a list of what’s planned, please click here.
- Back to St. Angelo’s Pizza: Look for the store to open on Sept. 9. For more on the fast-growing restaurant, click St. Angelos.
Outlets welcome Austin 5 in September. Calhoun Premium Outlets is seeing some changes this month and next. The one we’re watching is the listing for the Sept. 1 opening of “Austin 5.” We’ve found just two other such stores in the southeast, both part of the Simon group as is Calhoun Premium Outlets. Drilling into the listings for Austin 5, both in Calhoun and in Round Rock, Texas, leads you to this narrative: “Five Below Inc. is the leading retailer of trend-right, extreme-value merchandise to the teen and pre-teen market – all for $1 to $5. ” UPDATED: In an email sent Friday morning, Five Below’s rep says it isn’t associated with Austin 5. So we’ll keep digging to see what’s up. Very confusing as the image to the right shows.
Also at the outlets:
- Sweet Surprises is coming to “no. 49” in the outlet center. We’re not sure if this is the same small retailer that previously was in the Calhoun area or a new spin.
- Bon Worth returns but let’s quote the outlet center’s Facebook page: “Bon Worth is back! Come check out their brand new inventory and newly renovated store. Enjoy this special – – Now through Sunday, all clearance is an additional 50 percent off.” Bon Worth is a women’s fashion retailer.
