Model High’s Josh Walls designs the winning new logo for parks and rec

Media release: On Wednesday, Floyd County Manager Jamie McCord and Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Director Kevin Cowling visited Model High School to recognize senior Josh Walls as the logo contest winner for the Parks and Recreation Department. The artwork Walls created encompasses county landmarks that make the logo. It was open to all public and provide middle and high school students. The second place winner is Nidhi Patel and third place went to Alyssa Rodriguez, both eighth grade students at Rome Middle School. Walls received $100, an art kit, a framed version of his logo and will also receive a T-shirt featuring the design. Patel and Rodriguez will be honored Friday at the Thornton Recreation Center where they will each receive an art kit, $75 and $50 respectively, a pizza party for their art class and a NERF Wars party.
