Jack’s coming to Armuchee? That activity at the former SunTrust branch off Martha Berry in Armuchee could be leading to another fast-food restaurant.. Teresa Lumsden, who’s State Farm agency is next store, posted on Facebook that a Jack’s restaurant will rise from the remains of the bank office. We heard back from corporate late Tuesday. Said Pam Measel: “I do not have confirmation on this location. You can check back with me later.” The chain has stores in Carrollton, Bowman and Breman as well as across Alabama and in parts of Mississippi and Tennessee. Typical Jack’s menu.
- Jack’s would arrive soon after Taco Bell, the latest in a stretch of fast-food restaurants and also dine-in spots such as WOW and Waffle House.

Attention ALDI shoppers: Credit cards now accepted: This note for Rome and Calhoun shoppers (and Cartersville by December): As of March 1, ALDI accepts credit cards – including Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express – at all of its stores. As you know, ALDI previously only accepted cash and debit cards. This change – based on feedback from loyal customers – is one more way ALDI is meeting customer needs to make shopping quick and convenient. Also, ALDI recently announced Healthier Checklanes featuring single-serve nuts and trail mixes, dried fruits and granola bars to offer shoppers smarter choices at checkout and eliminate the temptation of unhealthy impulse-buys. Healthier Checklanes will be in all ALDI stores by end of 2016.
