Buzz: Broad Street closed to traffic from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today for Downtown Rome Saturday. Exchange Club to host Holocaust survivor. Floyd Commission meets Tuesday.

Just a reminder that Broad Street will be closed from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today for the Downtown Rome Saturdays festivities. Today’s free, family friendly event includes visual art, live music, culinary flavors and cultural performances including the Ellen Axson Wilson Art Walk, International Festival, Chalk Your Heart Out, singer-songwriters, and local bands. The day will end with the launch of the inaugural Rome Lantern Parade.

The Exchange Club of Rome will present Ben Walker, a Holocaust survivor, speaking about his experience in a Romania concentration camp on Friday, May 11th at their noon meeting. The club meets every Friday at the Coosa Valley Fairgrounds Palladium, 1400 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. For information, call 706/506-2499.


The Floyd County Board of Commissioners will meet on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, in the Community Room, Suite 206, on the second floor of the Floyd County Administration Building, 12 East 4th Avenue, Rome, Georgia.
