OUTLOOK

There is a chance of freezing rain and sleet across north Georgia late Sunday night into Monday morning as warm moist air overrides cold air near the ground. However, forecasted ice accumulations are now lower than previously expected with localized values less than a tenth of an inch possible throughout north Georgia. Please use caution when driving over less traveled roads, bridges and overpasses during this time. That also means a threat of ice on area roads during the Monday commute and back to school. However, temperatures are expected to rise to mid-40s on Monday, so any issues should be clear by mid-afternoon. We’ll continue to monitor the forecast throughout the weekend and early Monday.
