Here are the latest rankings for area teams, courtesy of the AJC and Georgia High School Football Daily:

  • 5A Rome, at 10-0, goes wire-to-wire in the regular season as no. 1.
  • 4A: Cartersville continues its multiseason grip on the top spot, also with a 10-0 record and 40 consecutive wins overall. Cedartown, at 9-1, remains the no. 8 team.
  • 3A: Calhoun, at 9-1, holds at no. 4.

First round playoff match-ups for Friday, Nov. 10:

  • 5A—Rome will host Cedar Shoals. Bracket
  • 4A—Cartersville and Cedartown will be at home against either Northwest Whitfield, Pickens or Southeast Whitfield. Must wait Monday night mini playoff. Bracket
  • 3A—Calhoun will host Pace Academy.
    • Adairsville will travel to Cedar Grove. Bracket
  • 2A—Pepperell will host Banks County.
    • Coosa will be at Elbert County.
    • Chattooga will be at Rabun County.
    • Rockmart will host winner of Monday night mini playoff involving Monticello, Putnam County, and Social Circle. Bracket
  • Class A will have to await power ratings. Bracket. As of Saturday morning, Darlington was no. 13.
