The Rome Rotary Club installed new officers and directors during a recent meeting at the Coosa Country Club. Jerry Lee was sworn in as 2017-18 President of the Rome Rotary Club by Rotary 6910 District Governor, Kim Waters. With 148 members, Rome Rotary is 103 years old and has a deep heritage of their motto “Service Above Self”. This year’s Rotary International theme is “Making a Difference”. The Rome club plans to achieve this through support of the Rotary International Polio Eradication Efforts, providing scholarships for Rome and Floyd County Seniors, recognizing monthly Terrific Students from Rome Middle School, support of the Rome Interact Club, joint sponsorship of an exchange student at Berry College, support of the Southeast Early Learning Academy, continuation of Floyd Medical Center’s Safe Sleep program, Otto Suhner Scholarship to a college student, and support of a world-wide clean water projects. Rotarian Chris Carey received the Rotarian of the Year Award. The Berry College annual summer farmer’s market will be from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 15 in the Clara Bowl on campus. Products for sale include Student Enterprises’ Jersey Milk, Blue Hen Eggs, Season’s Harvest vegetables and more. Synovus has been named “Most Reputable Bank” in the U.S. in the annual Survey of Bank Reputations conducted by Reputation Institute and published by American Banker. Of 42 banks included in the survey, Synovus ranked first overall, first among non-customers and in the top ten among customers. Synovus ranked second overall in 2016. The annual Survey of Bank Reputations, which began in 2010, provides a detailed analysis of the components that together formulate corporate reputations, and how different banks rate on those measures. Synovus’ overall score of 80.7 was the highest overall score in survey history and nearly 10 points above the 2017 industry average of 70.8. Results
