Week ahead: Floyd Commission to discuss upgrades to The Forum, rehabilitation plan for Historic Courthouse.

The Floyd County Board of Commissioners will meet on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 in the Community Room, Suite 206, on the second floor of the Floyd County Administration Building, 12 East 4th Avenue, Rome, Georgia. Caucus will begin at 4:00 p.m. in the Commissioners Caucus Room, Suite 204, followed by the Board Meeting at 6:00 p.m. The meetings are open to the public. The Commission is expected to approve a bid of $422.399.90 from Top Services, Inc. for improvements to The Forum as part of 2013 SPLOST. The project includes new lighting, drapes, canopy and decor. The Commission will also discuss a grant application for Historic Preservation Funds from the GA Department of Natural Resources for the creation of a master plan to rehabilitate the Historic Courthouse on Fifth Ave. If awarded grant, the County would be responsible for 40% of the project that is estimated at $48,000.  Agenda
